encrypted ichat…FINALLY

the new update for os x includes the ability to encrypt ichat traffic, but it appears you must have a .mac account for it to work. this is *sort of* good news, that will get better when encryption is available to all users.
i installed pgp for a while, but it made my ichat file transfers fail constantly, so it got uninstalled fairly quickly. now i can finally say things like “dude, what are you wearing” without worrying about man-in-the-middle attacks of mockery!

To secure against a man in the middle attack, I believe you still have to exchange info about the keys you exchanged using a different secure application or device.
