i am in love

logic 7 is the single coolest piece of software i have used on a mac in….probably forever. although this evening we did have our first argument. i asked for a hammond B3, and logic said, no, right now i am going to crash. i expect that of audio software. in fact i would have expected some horrid screeching in the headphones and a required restart of the machine, but she just quietly, demurely, went away from my screen. i clicked on the app to restart it, and all was well again. (i still obsessively save my work). i didn’t even have to reset the firewire audio breakout box. the guitar amp models are sick. the synthesizers and organs and other keyboards are sick. i am getting used to the keyboard shortcuts, and have mapped some of my old cubase habits into the preferences. end of day 2? blown away.
